March Green Step Challenge

There is no better way to celebrate the month of Saint Patrick's Day then to stick with the theme of GREEN and better our transportation habits. This month was special for Helping Hearts because it was the very first time we held a public challenge in our organization. The Student Sustainability Challenge allows volunteers and students across Vancouver, or even BC, to participate in an environmentally-minded project. In exchange for various pro-environmental awards and prizes , students were challenged to travel in a more environmentally friendly way either via carpooling, busing, walking, or other forms of unique transportation. The project operated under two of Helping Hearts'goals, “Environmental Change” and “Uniting Youth”. Throughout the challenge, participants posted their decision of choosing Green Transporation Methods on their social media hashtagging the challenge! Congrats to all the prize winners for this event, but now, you should have been contacted in your Instagram DMs!
